Moody, Non-Traditional NYE Wedding Featured on Junebug Weddings: Erin & Patrick

Erin & Patrick were married on New Year's Eve in Downtown Phoenix at The monOrchid.  This wedding was unlike any other wedding we've ever planned and was definitely the greatest PARTY we've ever gotten to attend.  ;)  It was really important for Erin & Patrick to have a wedding that truly represented them as a couple.  Having a "traditional" wedding, just wasn't part of that plan. New Year's Eve was the perfect excuse to be "non-traditional."  (Side note: As a planner, a NYE wedding was on my bucket list...and it was everything I ever dreamed it would be.) The wedding itself, started much later in the evening.  They did a cocktail hour first, followed by their ceremony, and lastly threw a huge party! There was no bridal party, no sit down dinner... but there was arcade games & loads of dancing!!  We decided on a wintery theme (genius, right?) with deep, rich, but simple colors- evergreen, burgundy (& a few pops of a brighter version for florals/ceremony backdrop), cream, black, w/ gold accents.  Plaid, of course, was included in this wintery look to help give it a cozy feeling that we could all enjoy.

When you meet this couple, you wonder "how do i become as cool as them?" Not only are they cooler than all of us, they are also incredibly good looking, and 2 of the funniest people you'll ever meet.  Their wedding represented all of those things.  Erin even surprised Patrick and got leather jackets made for both of them that said, "It Was All a Dream" on the back. See, so cool, right?  To see more of their gorgeous wedding, checkout all of the AH-mazing photos from Kym Ventola and the amazeballs [yes, you read that correctly] video that helped this wedding go viral by the uber talented Love Story Films.

Idieh Design KILLED it on the design for these invitations.  She created a custom plaid using all of their wedding colors that was used as part of their suite, the day of paper goods, and we even surprised E&P and had it used as their custom stamps! Erin is a fantastic writer and came up with all of the hilarious wording used on the invites, programs, bar signs, etc... All of the paper goods from Erin & Patrick's wedding ended up being some of our most favorites to date!

Erin's look was PERFECT.  Classic, yet edgy. Simple, but show-stopping.  The combo of her Rime Arodaky gown, her Ryan Storer ear cuff, her Free People shoes, and her flawless hair & makeup made her truly a one-of-a-kind bride.  Stephanie from SN Makeup nailed Erin's NYE makeup look.  And the best part....it lasted ALL NIGHT! (Also, doesn't Erin have the best eyebrows EVER?!?)

Erin & Patrick knew they wanted to do a first look on their wedding day.  This just also happened to be super ideal for photo taking considering the late start time.  This allowed for some daylight during photo time and thank goodness because these first look/couple portraits are INSANE.  They ended up doing their first look in a vacant building downtown called, The Abbey.  This place is unbelievable.  See for yourself below.

There's not enough words to describe to you how much we love Leah & Matt of Tremaine Ranch.  We spent a year working on this wedding with them and what they came up with blew us away.  Not only did they make custom high top tables w/ barstools specifically for this wedding, they built/hand-dyed the custom ceremony backdrop, and added new lounge items to their inventory just for this event.  They also provided the ceremony benches, the custom built bar, and the donut wall.  They helped make this wedding happen exactly as we envisioned it and we can't thank them enough for that.  They are just always so willing to go above and beyond for their clients and we appreciate that so SO much.

We wanted the reception to be relaxed, but rad.  The bride's mom handmade all of the plaid runners and pillows. There was pac-man, darts, ski-ball, and a huge dance floor.  The stations of food had the most incredible "late night snacks" and the dessert bar was out of control.  Not to mention the GORGEOUS donuts on the donut wall- courtesy of Welcome Chicken & Donuts.  The girls over at 1209 Creative did such an amazing job on the florals, pinecones, & greenery.  Those marble vases- I died when I saw them.  We added a few white Christmas trees on either side of the dance floor.  They were the perfect, simple addition to the wintery vibe we had going on.  At midnight, there was a count down, champagne, confetti, kisses, and breakfast burritos to-go.  If that doesn't make for a great night, I don't know what does.

This wedding has been featured on Junebug Weddings, Love Stories TV, The Knot, & Brides!
