Organic Beachside Santa Barbara Wedding at The Ritz-Carlton Bacara: Shanlyn & Miguel
If I'm biased - sue me - we planned the shit out of my best friend's wedding and here's my chance to gush about it. I hope you enjoy reading about it even a fraction as much as we enjoyed planning & attending it. Cheers!
Shanlyn & Miguel's love story, planning process & wedding style could best be described as organic. The way everything falls together in life and weddings - but is quickly adjusted with the wind, was a lesson of the day and will surely cary with them in life. Wind and details aside, these two only needed their family, the ocean & each other to create their perfect wedding day. They celebrated with all the above and then some, perched atop the majestic cliffs of The Ritz-Carlton Bacara, Santa Barbara. Tyler & I had many roles at this wedding. Not only were we the planners/coordinators; we were also the Matron of Honor, Officiant/groomsman, florist, parents of the 1.5-year old Ring Bearer, out-of-town guests, and we had our new 2-month old with us. We planned hard, worked hard, and then partied hard. We wouldn't have wanted it any other way, and are forever honored to have shared this day with two of our most valued friends.
When you find a venue as perfect as The Bacara - you book it. And then tell your planner to work budget and style around it. Right? Well, that's exactly what happened. Who could argue with the backdrop the venue provides? With tasteful decor from Tremaine Ranch, beautiful BBJ linens, watercolored paper products by Freed Hands, and floral by yours truly - we worked to simply accentuate the already beautiful atmosphere. If the Pacific coastal breeze wanted it's design opinion known, let me be the first to say: we heard it! A good planner embraces the unexpected and always answers with a solution. Dozens of solutions later, we were ready for showtime, and pulled off one of the most windswept ceremonies to date. The couple's personalities radiated through the ceremony. Tyler pulled out all the stops with laughs and sentiment, complimented by sweet & quirky vows from the couple. It couldn't have been more fitting, unless the acoustic melodies carrying them down the aisle were played perfectly by a dear friend... I know... It was amazing.
Thank you Shan & Miguel (Shiggy), for giving us the honor of planning this day with you, and all of the additional moments we shared throughout. We love you dearly, and will always remember when our third wheel upgraded to a fourth wheel. XO.
