Bringing Palm Springs Vibes to the Arizona Desert for Arizona's Finest Weddings Magazine
Palm Springs is an iconic California city know for it’s bright colors, stunning mid-century architecture, and overall big personality. It’s a city that dares to be different and we love it for that. When couples come to us asking for any sort of wedding design that resembles this city, it’s a real dream come true.
We are very lucky to not only be located within driving distance to this magic city, but to also have a local resort whose sleek modern look and feel mimics something out of ‘A Beginners Guide to Palm Springs.’ Mountain Shadows is one of our favorite resorts centrally located at the base of Camelback Mountain. It’s got views for days, and service unlike any other in the valley. When Arizona’s Finest Wedding Sites Magazine came to us asking if we wanted to design a cover shoot with this beautiful venue as the focal point, we jumped at the opportunity!
While Mountain Shadows does have a very Palm Springs like vibe, it’s also a blank canvas. We’ve seen a bunch of spectacular designs created at this venue. For this particular shoot, we decided to really play into this PS vibe and use bright colors, minimal floral, and clean lines. We used the signature teal color seen around the property as our jumping off point. From there, we gathered up a team of colorful vendors we knew could help us create something fun and creative without any hesitation.
Quick shoutout to the real MVP’s: The Details Duo & Idieh Design, for helping to bring all of our crazy ideas to life. These vendors worked their tails off in a short amount of time to create so many custom elements for this cover spread. And thank you again to Arizona’s Finest Wedding Sites for asking us to be a part of this fun opportunity. Fun facts:
This shoot happened just days before the word shut down due to Covid in March of 2020. We were so lucky that it happened when it did and that the publication still went live later in the year, as planned.
The weather gave us a run for our money on the day of this photo shoot…which, in AZ, is a rare occasion. We spent the day watching these incredibly dark clouds roll in, move around us, drop a bunch of huge droplets in a short amount of time, and then disappear. It was less than ideal but just thankful it was a photo shoot vs a real wedding. You can see what I’m talking about here. Also, after the rain was gone…came the wind. [not cool]
